Live 4 Help (L4H) Foundation is committed to contributing to mother earth by means of active tree plantation drives with a motto of a cleaner and greener environment. In a span of two years, our foundation has planted approximately **4,000 mangrove saplings** in three highly organized campaigns in the Sundarbans Delta of West Bengal.
With the support of local teams and villagers, the foundation undertakes absolute responsibility for protecting the plants for **3 years** to ensure high survival rates and sustainability. The saplings from our earlier drives are growing very rapidly, currently averaging a height of **8 to 12 feet**!
Provides robust natural resistance against storm surges, coastal soil erosion, and delta flooding.
Highly effective in sequestering organic carbon and reducing regional carbon footprints.
Assists in minimizing the greenhouse effect and maintaining local temperature equilibrium.
Reviewing our tree distribution and survival operations inside the Sundarbans Delta.
The deadly cyclone Amphan destroyed one-third of the Sundarbans mangrove forest in 2020. L4H launched its first green initiative by planting **1,000 mangrove saplings** on the banks of the Kalindi river at Purba Kalitala, Haridaskati. The area was secured with bamboo and nylon netting.
L4H celebrated Republic Day with a successive plantation campaign within 3 months, planting **2,000 mangrove saplings**. This increased our active maintenance buffer to 3,000 plants. Varieties planted include native **Sundari, Kakra, Dhudhul, Bain, Gorgon, and Poshur** species.
L4H successfully planted **1,000 mangrove saplings** (predominantly high-root **Kakra and Sundari** species) on the Kalindi river banks in the Gobindakati village sector, Hingalganj Block, North 24 Parganas, ensuring robust soil fortification.
We seek corporate sponsorships and CSR partnerships as part of green initiatives to expand our mangrove forests, helping protect coastlines and support tribal fisherfolk livelihoods.
